Trending: Denim

DENIM!!! It’s been around forever, and it’s not leaving any time soon. The 70’s highlighted high waists and bell bottoms, the 80’s introduced acid wash, and the 90’s introduced us to low rise jeans (thank you Britney Spears). Nowadays, you can find an assortment of all of these and everything in between. The only thing I don’t see too much of is low rise cuts, thank God. I’m bracing myself for when that trend makes a comeback because they ALL seem to reappear eventually. But what, in this moment, is trending for denim? Here are 3 trends I’ve definitely taken notice of:

  1. Two-Toned

I’m not sure where it started, but two toned denim is definitely a thing right now and I kinda like it. Peep my H&M overall dress in the above pics šŸ™‚ This trend is finding its way into full length jeans, dresses, overalls, skirts, you name it.

2. Head to Toe

At one time, denim on denim may have been considered a faux pas (Jay Leno anyone?). But right now, it’s an OOH LA LA! Haha. Just go for it. Jean shirt with jeans, denim jumpsuit (like mine above), overalls, you name it. You may resemble something of a 50’s car mechanic, but it’s on trend!

How could this have ever been a faux pas? **Sarcasm

3. The Fray

You’ve seen it. We’ve all seen it, frayed hems, or uniquely cut raw hems. Big ripped holes and other signs of distress. The more distressed the better! Check out my DIY post on how to do your distressing.
